Garda, in the province of Verona, is the municipality that gives its name to the largest lake in Italy. <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It is located in the center of the gulf of the same name and includes the territory of Punta San Vigilio, creating a small peninsula. It is situated between the Veronese municipalities of Torri del Benaco<\/a> and Bardolino<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For those who love to enjoy the lake to the full, a walk along the lakefront is a must, admiring its characteristic harbour and stopping at Piazza dei Capitani<\/strong>, surrounded by historic buildings that still retain their old-world charm.<\/p>\n

Among the most notable buildings is the Palazzo dei Capitani<\/strong>, an elegant palace in Venetian Gothic style dating back to the 14th century, which was the residence of the so-called Capitano del lago, the magistrate representing the authority of Venice over Garda.<\/p>\n

Also overlooking the lakefront is the Palazzo La Losa<\/strong>, consisting of a portico surmounted by a loggia. Both floors feature five arcades.<\/p>\n

Wandering instead through the streets of the centre, such as Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Via Spagna, and Calle dei Sottoportici, you will find shops, boutiques, restaurants and caf\u00e9s that coexist harmoniously among ancient palazzi such as the 15th-century Palazzo Fregoso<\/strong> with its characteristic staircase and mullioned window above the arch, a point of passage for those passing through the old town.<\/p>\n

You will then notice the Porta dell’Orologio<\/strong>, a small tower on the fa\u00e7ade of which is a clock and, here too, an arched passageway on the ground floor that marks the entrance to the historic centre. Near the tower, in Piazzetta Calderini to be precise, there is another important building, Palazzo Carlotti<\/strong>, which today hosts cultural events and art exhibitions.<\/p>\n

During the summer, the historic centre comes alive with festivals, concerts and shows. One of the most eagerly awaited events is the \u2018Palio delle Contrade<\/strong>\u2019, a boat race held on the lake and involving the various districts of the town.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It is a small peninsula stretching elegantly into the lake, charged with a fascinating, dreamlike atmosphere.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The natural beauty of Punta San Vigilio is astounding. The peninsula is surrounded by crystal-clear waters and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. It is an ideal place to enjoy tranquillity, nature and the picturesque landscape.<\/p>\n

One of the main attractions of Punta San Vigilio is the Villa Guarienti, an elegant loggia building dating back to the 16th century that once hosted illustrious personalities such as Maria Luisa of Austria and Tsar Alexander II.<\/strong> The villa is surrounded by a magnificent Italian-style park with manicured gardens, statues and native plants such as olive trees and cypresses. There is even a small church dedicated to San Vigilio. Its architecture and charming ambience make it a popular location for weddings<\/a> and other ceremonies or events.<\/p>\n

To reach Punta San Vigilio on foot, there is a walk of almost 3 km along the lake, directly on the pebble beach<\/strong> (walk not suitable for prams and pushchairs), called Spiaggia Al Corno.
