In Pieve di Tremosine, a panoramic balcony juts out into thin air several hundred metres above the lake. It’s the famous “Terrazza del Brivido” (Thrill Terrace), one of the most spectacular and photographed views on the whole of Garda. The village of Pieve, among the most beautiful in Italy, is reached by car, and the terrace is just a few minutes’ walk from the centre. Strada della Forra — Tremosine
Not a single viewpoint but an entire scenic route: the Strada della Forra climbs a narrow rocky gorge, connecting the lakeshore to Pieve di Tremosine. The road cuts through tunnels carved into the rock, with sudden views over the sheer drop. It’s a spectacular road, also famous as a film location, and worth the drive as a scenic experience in itself.
Punta Larici — Pregasina (Riva del Garda)
Above the tiny village of Pregasina, Punta Larici is a rocky spur overlooking the upper lake: from here the view runs along the whole northern basin, from Limone to Torbole, with cliffs plunging into the water. Monte Brione — Riva del Garda
A green ridge rising between Riva del Garda and Torbole, Monte Brione offers a unique view over both sides of the upper lake, among vineyards, olive groves and old Austro-Hungarian forts. Sentiero Busatte–Tempesta — Torbole
On the eastern shore of the upper lake, the Busatte–Tempesta trail links Torbole southward through terraces, Mediterranean scrub and spectacular metal stairways suspended over the sheer rock above the water. It’s a scenic path from start to finish, with constant glimpses of the opposite shore: one of the most beautiful ways to experience the lake on foot.
Monte Baldo — Malcesine
Known as the “botanical garden of Europe”, Monte Baldo is the great mountain that runs alongside the eastern shore. Above Torri del Benaco, the hamlet of Albisano is a quiet, uncrowded balcony over the middle and lower lake, with benches to rest on.
